Our farm consists of rolling pastures, wooded hillsides, and wetlands in Pike County, Ohio. We lease 150 acres to a Mennonite family for a grass-based dairy and run Katahdin sheep and Red Devon cows on the rest. We move the livestock daily, so they are always on fresh grass. Our constant interaction with them makes them docile, which translates into enhanced taste of the meat.
Katahdin grass-fed lamb is fabulous for eating. We look forward to testing our first Red Devon beef in the Spring of 2013, and are optimistic about flavor and tenderness given the marbling already evident in the steers we are finishing (on grass.)
