What is the IVOF&Gs CSA all about? Indian Valley Organic Farm & Gardens Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a partnership between our Farm and committed and passionate supporters of our local food system. By joining our CSA program you will receive a weekly box of our highest quality, freshest, organic produce from our fields to your table. Additionally, you will also be directly supporting IVOF&Gs mission to create a healthier food system, enhancing the sustainable agriculture training we offer as well as supporting our Farm programs financial sustainability. Our CSA box offers a diverse mix of certified organic and nutrient-dense vegetables, herbs and fruit.
What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)? CSA refers to a model of farming in which farmers sell harvest shares directly to people in the local community. CSA represents a shared commitment - shareholders commit to the farm for the season, providing farmers or in this case IVOFG, with a secure customer base, and IVOF&G commits to doing their utmost to provide their shareholders with the best-quality, most nutritious food around.
How does the IVOF&G CSA work? We prepare CSA boxes from May 20th until November 28th, a 28-week season. A typical box feeds 2 to 4 people per week, depending on your familys cooking habits. Boxes are delivered weekly (you choose Tuesday or Friday pick up) to a drop-site at convenient locations.
What do you get in a box? Every week our members receive a box of 9-12 different vegetables, herbs, and fruit (strawberries, melon, peaches, plums, and apples) harvested at their peak ripeness from IVOF&G. You also receive a weekly newsletter with recipes, news from IVOF&G, and information about events at the Farm.
How much does it cost? We have one size box priced at $25 a week. You can pay for the whole season at once, half season, four payments or every 4 week payments.
Do you offer anything else? We are also offering a limited number of flower bouquet subscriptions. For $7 a week you can add a seasonal, organic bouquet to your CSA box.
