Marble Creek Farmstead is a sustainable, small family farm raising fruits and vegetables, flowers, and humanely-raised all-natural pastured meats. Jesie and Matthew Lawrence started Marble Creek in 2014. We are driven to create a beautiful environment to raise our children in while producing the best food we can for ourselves and our community.
Matthew was a founding member of Hepzibah Farms in Talledega, AL in 2011. We moved to our new home and got busy starting our farming family. We renovated our 1930s farm house in the first few months. We raised our first round of broiler chickens (along with some of the vegetables) for our wedding on the summer solstice. They were amazing! We raised 2.5 acres of fruits and vegetables in our first year and are doing about the same this year. We had our first child in the spring.
We currently raise pastured Cornish Cross and heritage-breed broiler chickens for meat and egg-laying birds in mobile chicken tractors. We also raise a small herd of Berkshire & Tamworth hogs (heritage breeds). We have a large vegetable garden this year and will start our forest garden-style orchard system over the next few years. We have a small herd of Kiko & Boer goats in silvopasture for future meat production. We provide our with animals a non-GMO feed. Our adventure is just starting. We are glad to have you here!
