Established in 1910, the Iwig Dairy is not new to the area, but the store at 1901 Massachusetts Street is. The new corner market includes a full line of the Iwig dairy products including whole cream, butter and ice cream. They provide the community with the healthiest best quality products available, going so far as the bottle their milk, cream and buttermilk in glass bottles to avoid the leaching of toxins such as Bisphenol A (BPA), found in plastic containers.
The dairy cows are bred and raised on the farm in Tecumseh, fed healthy food with no antibiotics, no Round-Up ready alfalfa or any other artificial additives. The milk is pasteurized, homogenized and bottled on the farm, arriving t store shelves as fresh as possible. To further enhance your enjoyment,
yummy flavored milk is bottled throughout the year. Some flavors are familiar such as chocolate and strawberry, but expect the unusual some times like Cappuccino, Root Beer, Orange Cream and Egg Nog. Milk is not the only thing flavored, look also for fresh butters flavored with garlic, herbs, honey and cinnamon.
Local foods is the focus at this market. Along with all the Iwig Family Dairy products, you can find local eggs, jams, jellies, salsas and barbeque sauces. They carry a variety of cheeses from Jason Weibe Dairy and breads and baked goods from Wheatfields Bakery. Soon you will find local beef, poultry, pork, tofu, tempeh and fresh produce. An entire meal, from preparation to dessert, could be set on your table with all local foods, boosting the local economy, your health and your conscience.
