We sell pork from our pigs that live a happy and healthy life on woodland pastures.
Jones Hill Farm was started in 1975 as a Veteran and Native American run wildlife conservation and tree farm. The Jones family has planted 95,000+ trees by hand on 168 acres and turned the conventional soy and corn fields into forest. Chickens have been running around the farm in various numbers over the decades.
In 2023 we moved our farm from Wisconsin to Southern Missouri and became Jones Hill Ranch. Today, we grow pigs and chickens on silvo pasture. All of our animals live outdoors on grass and forest ground and get to feel the sunshine and the fresh air on their bodies.
We don't clip teeth, dock tails or notch ears. Any pictures you see with docked tails and ear notches are from our animals we bought as breeding stock.
We work hard to give our animals a natural, happy and healthy life. Our animals can act out all their natural behaviors. Our pigs live in herds and get to root fresh forest ground. Our mother sows give birth to their piglets in the most natural way, being able to touch and care for their piglets. We don't ever use gestation or farrowing crates (which are more common than you might think).
The pigs are part of our rotational grazing system so that they have regular access to fresh, clean ground to forage and root in.
We work with small, nearby, USDA and State inspected butchers to ensure low stress slaughter and the highest quality meat output. Our meat is juicy and fresh. The sunshine and earth give the meat a wonderful taste and a product full of nutrients for you and your family.
