Jornada Alpaca Ranch

Welcome to Jornada Alpacas. We were looking for livestock that would fit on our acreage (5 acres), be relatively easy to work with AND be enjoyable to be around. What a perfect fit with alpaca! Our goal is to breed and raise quality alpaca for the future of the national herd and quality fiber for the production of luxurious yarns and a wide range of clothing made from their amazing fiber. Last but not least, for the "shear" enjoyment of it. I have had the pleasure of to learn spinning, weaving and now knitting the fiber. Working with Alpaca is a truely "hands on" experience. Alpaca fleece is the natural fiber harvested from an alpaca. It is light weight or heavy weight, depending on how it is spun. It is soft, durable, luxurious and silky natural fiber.
