The mission of the CSA is to support our family farm and similar farms that are still in operation in southern Maryland. Many of the vegetables in the CSA are grown on Jug Bay Market Garden in Prince George's County. Weekly CSA shares also include vegetables from other Prince George's County farms as well as from Mennonite and Amish family farms in Saint Mary's County. Most of the vegetables from other farms are not organic but much of it is grown without pesticides or with reduced risk pesticides. None of the food is from more than 50 miles away from Capitol Hill and most of it is from less than 35 miles. All of the farms that participate in the CSA are well into the sprawl of Washington, DC so by joining the CSA you are helping to support the last family farms so close to the city. Please contact if you would like to find out more about the CSA.
