Juniper Meadow Ranch

Juniper Meadow Ranch is a small farm with a big history and a passion for quality. It all started in 1995 in the Willamette Valley, Oregon, where we began our ranching and farming activities on a modest plot of land. As our business grew, we purchased a larger ranch, and moved to Central Oregon and established Juniper Meadow Ranch as a formal entity. After 20 years of successful operation there, we relocated to our current location in Middleton Idaho, where despite the smaller size of the land, we continue to focus on quality over quantity

We are proud to raise Murray Grey cattle, an old heritage breed that originated in the Murray River Valley of Australia over 100 years ago. Our Murray Grey beef are selected for their genetic traits of tenderness and marbling, which we test and verify regularly. We also raise New Zealand and Californian meat rabbits, which we sell in trios for those who want to start their own herd, or live with complimentary butcher. We can also provide USDA processing for restaurants upon request.

Running a small farm in Middleton Idaho has its challenges and benefits. Some of the challenges are finding markets for our products, competing with larger farms, and dealing with weather and pests. Some of the benefits are being part of a supportive community of small farmers and local food enthusiasts, having access to resources and education from the University of Idaho Extension, and contributing to the sustainability and resilience of our local food system.
