Who are we? Katchkie Farm is a 60-acre NOFA-certified organic farm in Kinderhook, NY. We developed the farm in 2006 on previously unfarmed land with the help of Farmer Bob Walker. Katchkie Farm is also home to The Sylvia Center, a non-profit that educates children to eat well through culinary education and hands-on farm-to-table programs.

What is a CSA? Members sign up for a share in the farm before the growing season and pay up front, with the option to pay in installments. During the months of June through October the farm coordinates weekly deliveries of fresh produce from what is ready to harvest that week.

Why join a CSA? A CSA is a convenient way to help create a better food system while enjoying the season's bounty. The system is mutually beneficial: farmers are able to grow high quality produce on a small scale, and members receive a wide variety of farm fresh vegetables. Participating in a CSA is a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between growers and consumers while providing financial support to farmers.

What do I get in my CSA share? Large shares contain an average of 7-10 different types of organic vegetables per delivery.

Small shares contain an average of 4-7 different types of organic vegetables per delivery.

A share in July might contain broccoli, carrots, cucumber, eggplant, kale, scallions, lettuce, zucchini, parsley, and tomatoes.

A share in October might contain beets, garlic, celery root, onions, mustard greens, leeks, butternut squash, peppers, tomatoes, and turnips.

Each week members receive a newsletter containing updates from the farm, storage tips, and recipes.

Are there opportunities to engage with fellow CSA members? All members are invited to Katchkie Farm for Spring Planting Day in May, the annual Farm to Table Dinner Fundraiser in July, and the Fall Harvest Festival in September. There will also be opportunities to participate in workshops, happy hours, and cooking classes.

What is the price of the CSA share? The price of a full share for the full 22-week season beginning in June is $638. That's just $29 a week for your groceries! Half shares are available for $385 for the 22 week season!
