Ebenezer Farm

We are a small, family farm in Earlysville, VA.

We raise a variety of chickens focusing on rare and heritage breeds; our flock is currently made up of barred rocks, salmon faverolles, black copper marans, welsummers, a few Rhode Island reds, and a few that came in a rare breed assortment that we aren’t 100% sure about! All of our chickens spend their days on pasture, and we rotate the fields regularly to ensure they always have plenty of grass and bugs to eat. We also ensure they have access to natural shade beneath some trees, especially in mid-summer, and their forage is supplemented with certified organic layer feed and kitchen scraps from our family and neighborhood children who love to visit.

We also raise San Clemente Island goats, American Buff geese, and are in the process of establishing small orchards and vineyards around the farm (apples, peaches, figs, and grapes).

If you are local to Earlysville or the north side of Charlottesville, we’d love to serve your family with fresh eggs! We also raise hens and sell them to people who would prefer to raise their own, so let us know if that is something you are interested in!

Lastly, we do not kill our hens as they age. As long as they’re eating bugs and fertilizing our pastures, we are happy to let them live the best life we can give them, even if they don’t lay very many eggs.
