CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. In this relationship between consumer and farm, the consumer purchases a share of the current years livestock, becoming a shareholder of the herd. As a shareholder, the consumer secures a share of the farms annual meat production. As a shareholder, you are not buying packaged meat. You are buying a percentage of the herd.
In return Keene'rs Walnut Grove Farm will raise grass fed beef and pastured poultry and eggs. A neighboring farm will be raising hormone-free pork. Keener Farm will have the meat processed and deliver your share of meat once a month. At Keener Farm, we guarantee to deliver responsibly and locally raised meat. We know you willl taste the difference.
Beef, pork, lamb and whole chickens and eggs will be available as part of the CSA share. For the first month, only beef and pork will be provided in the share. In subsequent months, we will be working to provide free range chickens as an option in the CSA program. 20 lb and 15 lb shares will receive chicken. 8 lb shares will only receive beef and pork..
20 lb shares cost $125 per month, 15 lb shares cost $100 per month and 8 lb shares cost $65 per month. As a shareholder in the farm, fees are due every three months. To sign up for a 20 lb share starting in April, the three-month fee would be $375.
