Our family farm started out as a dream over 8 years ago. We lived in a suburb of Buffalo, NY, and began hatching birds-- small at first, but then grew to hatching a few hundred birds per season-- chickens, ducks, turkeys and even emu! Living in a suburb, we couldn't keep and raise them, so we sold them to local farms, or traded them for other food that was naturally produced. Two years ago, we left NY for TN, and purchased a lovely little farm in Westmoreland, TN, where we immediately began raising our own. We take great pride in food quality and integrity. We would not feed any chemically produced/GMO/Antibiotic/Hormone fed garbage to our own family (hence the reason why we own our own farm), and we certainly won't feed it to yours either! We have a limited number of naturally raised turkeys left for this holiday season. Completely free roaming on our 10 acre farm, our turkeys forage their natural diet all day long. They are supplemented twice a day with certified organic feed from Windy Acres Farm in Orlinda, TN, and we do not use hormones or antibiotics to make them grow faster or bigger. $5 per pound, will be available for pick up this Wednesday afternoon. Our philosophy is to strive for 100% natural and sustainable agriculture. We do not use GMOs, nor do we use any pesticides or chemical fertilizers. We control weeds with mulch and good old fashioned weeding. We control insects with ladybugs, praying mantises, and we also plant companion flowers that attract predators that eat pest insects. WE only use natural, organic approved fertilizer. Our turkeys and chickens are completely free roaming, having full run of our 10 acre farm (except for our porch-- we screened it in to keep them off)! They forage for their natural diet all day in fresh air and sunshine. We do supplement them twice a day with some feed with minerals, but only use certified organic feed from Windy Acres Farm in Orlinda, TN. We do not use hormones or antibiotics to get our animals to grow faster or bigger. We are in the process of completing a 2000 square foot greenhouse that will house a vertical aquaponic system that will produce vegetables and fish all year round. We don't feed anything chemically produced to our own family (hence, the reason we own our own farm), and we certainly won't feed anything like that to your family either.
