West Side Farmers Market

The mission of the West Side Farmers Market is to provide access to quality, healthy, and affordable locally grown food for our neighborhood residents and beyond. We support and encourage the local production of food and goods and provide a venue for local growers to showcase and sell their products. We build and strengthen community connections between neighbors and organizations serving the West Side by providing a welcoming and lively community gathering space. In 2015, its third season, the West Side Farmers Market increased attendance by 50% from last year! We attracted even more local food vendors, bringing a greater variety of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as hot sauce, baked goods, jams, pickles and eggs to the West Side. In addition to food, there were several new local craft vendors with jewelry, blown glass, skin care products, and cloth goods. We continued to offer EBT and WIC and invited community groups and agencies to share information on their programming. The market wasn�t only a place to shop, however. Thanks to the generosity of many local musicians and entertainers, we were able to offer live music every week making the Market an inviting and welcoming Saturday morning gathering place.
