On Lilac Hill Farm, near Muncy in central PA, we focus on pastured Katahdin sheep,Buckeye chickens,Cornish Cross meat chickens,Pekin ducks and woodlot raised pigs. These breeds thrive by rotating through our pasture and work together to improve the soil. Meat, heritage breed breeding stock and hatching eggs are available seasonally.
Chicks arrived yesterday and will head out into their pasture when the weather warms and they feather out. With all their activity, forage and certified organic feed, they will be ready in 8-10 weeks.Piglets arrive today and will spend some time in the run in shelter, turning the hay and straw left by the sheep's overwintering. Next week ducks move on farm, starting their time under heated hovers in the garden. And mid-April our widening Katahdin ewes should add lambs to the barnyard.
