Loma vista farm is a 5 acre community-based urban farm that is a partnership between the vallejo city unified school district and the friends of loma vista farm non-profit. The mission is to provide hands-on educational activities for students to enhance their knowledge of nature and nutrition. The farm is open to the public and is a field trip site for students from all over the north and east bay areas. Each year 18,000 visitors learn first hand about growing plants and caring for farm animals. The farm has a 30'x120' greenhouse with herbs, veggies, succulents, ca natives, house plants, and flowers for sale year round. Visitors may buy organic veggies, herbs, and fruit for only $1/lb in our u-pick. All proceeds support agriculture education for students of all ages. School groups, garden clubs and other groups need to call to schedule a visit. Individuals and families are welcome to drop in anytime the farm is open. There is no cost for drop in visitors.
