We have pet chickens, ducks, guineas and geese (as well as horses, goats, cats and dogs). All of our ladies are spoiled and they all have names. They're fed a high quality feed and are not exposed to any chemicals (pesticides, herbicides, etc.) or unhealthy practices (junk food, medications, etc.). They free range the farm daily while we supervise them for safely. They have a huge, predator proof coop and run for night time. It's even heated in the winter and has an exhaust fan for summer! Nothing is too good for our girls. Our pets have a forever home with us, whether they are laying or are elderly and past their egg laying years.
Surprised to see we sell duck and goose eggs? As my son-in-law just said after trying his first goose egg, he's never seen or tasted anything like it! You can Google nutritional differences between the different kinds of eggs; goose and duck eggs are densely nutritious. Also, some people blow out eggs and use them for art! Please note, eggs are a seasonal food as production slows in late fall until early spring. Particularly if you are interested in trying duck or goose eggs, spring is the best time!
I carefully candle eggs for quality, but they are sold unwashed for the best taste. You will leave your beautiful eggs on the counter, like most people do outside of the US, and rinse them with warm water just before cracking the shell. If you haven't tasted farm fresh eggs kept at room temperature you are in for a wonderful surprise! Here's an article on the subject: https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2014/09/11/336330502/why-the-u-s-chills-its-eggs-and-most-of-the-world-doesnt
We also have a full fledged flower farm! You can buy flowers and bouquets right on the farm! We care deeply about Mother Earth and our practices reflect that philosophy. We use organic methods for our flowers, including no harsh chemicals, hand weeding, and no till-methods for preparing fields. AND we are all solar as of 2024!!
If you are interested in visiting the farm to pick up some farm fresh eggs and / or flowers, just send us a note via email. We are open by appointment. Be sure to say hello to all of the animals while you're here!
Thank you!
