Shumei Santa Cruz Farm

Shumei Santa Cruz Farm is located on 25 beautiful acres surrounded by redwood forests and close proximity to the ocean. We are 1,500 ft. above sea level in the Santa Cruz Mountains area. We practice the philosophy of Natural Agriculture which originated in Japan by it's founder Mokichi Okada, who said "Nature Can Teach Us Everything". We are "beyond organic" which means; we do not use any pesticides, herbicides, or chemical or organic fertilizers. Currently we are farming 8 acres of many types of vegetables and Japanese vegetables. We are running a CSA membership, give farm tours to local schools, participate in local farmer's markets, and starting up a CSA Member Community Garden Project. CSA Members that enjoy our vegetables once a week, say the taste and the ease of cooking our vegetables is remarkable.
