Hi my name is Debbie, My husband Kevin and I have a small acreage here of carefully tended, naturally grown crops. I have been away from LocalHarvest for an extended period of time. This has been due to a lengthy illness, which was eventually diagnosed as cancer last year. During my 20+ years as a smoker, as well as decades in the construction and remodeling industry as a painting contractor I was exposed to a wide variety of toxic fumes, vapors and particulate matter, and it caught up with me. I was stage IV b throat cancer. After months of radiation and chemo treatments I am happy to report that my recent PET scan and blood work in April say I am cancer free. I credit God, and the excellent doctors and competent care I received at Winship Cancer Center in Atlanta, and who knows, maybe just a little bit, and of course I cannot say for sure they helped, but maybe the teas that I experimented with, and began brewing a lot more of as I went through my treatments, helped as well. There is a lot of information available, and many studies have concluded as fact that many herbs are beneficial. For example as a source of obtaining certain vitamins, minerals, or antioxidants. Or to aid the body in cleansing toxins from the kidneys and liver. All I know for sure is I went from stage IV b to cured. I have an abundance of natural herbs growing here, as the Lord gave them to me, honeysuckle, white clover, nettles, chamomile, pokeweed, persimmon trees, etc. I also have many others that I have planted in years prior ; stevia, mint varieties, lemon balm, St. John's Wort, roses galore, etc... I love concocting different blends. I plan to focus my future efforts here on Local Harvest gathering, drying, and promoting my special loose leaf tea blend. It is a blend of Peppermint, lemon balm, Stevia, persimmon leaves, and white Clover, with a delicate floral touch of honeysuckle & rose petals. The 2010 blend is ready, and the products catalog is awaiting LH approval:) Thanks Deb and Kev

I have always believed in natural herbal remedies. Over the years I often brewed myself a custom cuppa. As kids Mom made us herbal sun teas. When diagnosed with stage IV throat Cancer I got serious about learning herbs real potential, Investigating and experimenting with what I had growing. I decided upon a mix of Mint, lemon balm, stevia, persimmon, white clover and a floral combination of honeysuckle & rose petals. A healthy no caffeine, no calorie, herbal green tea. Taste Good, good for you
