We sell living microgreens!
Microgreens are any vegetable or herb harvested within 7-14 days after germination. They are up to 40 times more nutritious than their mature counterparts by weight, making them indispensable to a healthy lifestyle.
Microgreens are high in different vitamins and nutrients, depending are the variety. These nutrients include vitamin A, B, C, D, E, K, folic acid, niacin, potassium, iron, phosphorus, pantothenic acid, calcium, magnesium, zinc, lutein, proteins, and beta-carotene.
Unfortunately, once microgreens are cut or harvested, their nutrients rapidly begin to degrade. Sweet City Micros sells living microgreens with the roots still attached, ensuring the highest amount of nutrients for the buyer possible. By allowing customers to harvest their microgreens as needed, whether at home on the kitchen counter or in a commercial kitchen, all of the microgreens' nutrients are retained.
We do not use any herbicides, fungicides, pesticides or fertilizers. The microgreens are grown hydroponically on coconut coir pads, using only Non-GMO seeds and water. Nothing else. We are a vertical farm located in Huntsville, 10 minutes from Downtown Huntsville and 15 minutes away from Madison City. As an urban indoor farm, we are able to produce year-round, ensuring a variety of microgreens throughout all the seasons.
With only 130 square feet, we are truly a micro-farm focused on sustainability. We utilize vertical grow space, LED lights, minimize water usage, compost any microgreen waste on site and only serve our local community-all in an attempt to lessen our carbon footprint.

Important note: We do NOT sell sprouts of any kind. Sprouts are grown in damp moist conditions, harvested within 3-5 days after germination and recognized as high risk by the FDA due to the consumption of seed hulls and roots. We sell only microgreens, which are grown in dry conditions, harvested 7-14 days after germination, WITHOUT the seed hulls or the roots being consumed. Subpart M of the latest Food Safety Modernization Act acknowledges that microgreens are NOT sprouts.
