THE ONLY FARM IN THE USA PRODUCING DRY AGED TURKEYS
The story started in 1971, all the way over in the UK in a small town called Danbury in Essex, with Derek and Molly Kelly and their son Paul Kelly. The goal was simple: to produce the best turkey possible, which meant collecting up small flocks of bronze turkeys throughout Scotland England and Wales to start the KellyBronze breed, alongside developing unique but traditional farming methods required to produce exquisite turkeys.
The KellyBronze is now famous in the UK as the turkey of choice for foodies, chefs and celebrities. Winning the best turkey in Britain for 8 consecutive years.
The magic of a KellyBronze turkey is due to a simple but regimented chain of events
- A slow growing breed
- Grown to full maturity
- Pasture raised on natural feed and antibiotic free
- Plucked by hand using no added water
- Dry aged for a minimum of 7 days
- Packed in a presentation box to allow further maturation
- Cooking instructions that are so short and simple you may not believe them
In 2012 The Kelly Family bought Heritage Glen farm to launch the Kellybronze turkey in the USA. They are hatched and reared on the farm in partnership with locals Judd and Cari Culver and their family. The farm is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains with acres of woodland and pasture that is perfect for KellyBronze Turkeys as they are grown wild as nature intended, and through the seasons that nature intended
Now in Crozet for all to enjoy. Come and see them growing wild (before thanksgiving!)
