Fair Food Matters is a non-profit organization dedicated to building, educating and advocating to support local food.
Our main programs include:
The Can-Do Kitchen: A licensed commercial kitchen and business incubator for new and existing food businesses, local-produce processing, and job training
The Growing Matters Garden: An urban, educational market garden serving at-risk youth in a 10-week summer program
Douglass Farmers' Market: A market on the north side, increasing access to fresh, locally grown produce, and creating an enjoyable and safe community event that will bring people together
Future Chefs program: A six-week summer program designed to give teens food preparation skills and generate interest in food industry careers
Eat Local, Kalamazoo: A summer-to-fall program of local food-related events
Southwest Michigan Community Harvest Fest: An annual celebration of local food, local farming, and sustainable living
