Harvest from the Heart of Iowa is a local food system non-profit. We are looking at our food systems and encouraging connections between food producers and processors and institutions and eaters. We are a network that is encouraging agriculture economic development. Our mission is to build a strong local food economy by developing economic opportunities; by energizing and educating residents in the Marshall county area in their production and consumption of local foods and by forging new connections between producers and eaters.
A local food directory for the area within a 30 mile radius of Marshalltown is available upon request. This covers portions of Marshall, Story, Poweshiek, Tama, Hardin, Jasper and Grundy counties- as far west as Nevada as far south as Sully and Linville, as far east as Reasnor and Elberon, and as far north as Dike, Hudson, and Owasa.
