The Late Martha Jackson affectionately known as the "Pickle Lady"(pickle-maker extraordinaire, and her husband David) bring a combined 20+ years of pickling experience. Martha heritage includes tutoring by her grandmother and great grandmother, who taught her pickling in Alabama, remains a great inspirations to her though she tweaked it over the years, it is their recipe that is the basis of Martha Joy pickles today. Martha Joy produces home made pickles products such as asparagus, beans, beets, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, cucumber, hot peppers, okra and tomatoes. Making these pickles products and watching customers faces light up as they sample them is part of Martha Joy. The tomatoes, peppers, beets, and other produce used for the pickles are locally-grown and purchased from fellow vendors. Martha takes pride in working to LIVE, LAUGH and LOVE through her pickles. Just like the first fall many years ago in which her family canned. Martha retains this ethic in her work. I love to utilize everything . . . thats why I can. Martha products can be purchased from Farmers Markets located in the Twin City Areas. Products can be purchased from The Hopkins Farmers Market, Maple Grove Farmers Market, Midtown Farmers Market, and Kingfield Farmers Market.
Martha passed on May 17, 2014 during a lengthy illness. Martha's Joy business will continue with her husband (David Jackson) doing the process in honor of Martha. Martha wanted to continue the legacy and I am honor to keep her business and provide that smile that she enjoyed.
