Materia Medica is a Latin medical term for the body of collected knowledge about the therapeutic properties of any substance used for healing (i.e., medicines). The techniques and recipes we use are developed with information collected from hundreds of sources, as well as our personal experience and ethics. We focus on a holistic, rather than allopathic approach to health. Many times symptoms show up in a body that is unbalanced in some way. By supporting the general systems of the body with whole foods and whole herbs one can treat the root cause of the symptoms. A good example of this is generally supporting a healthy immune system, rather than treating the unpleasant symptoms of a cold or flu.
