A Wrinkle in Thyme Farm is women owned and operated, a small, diversified organic farm in the foothills of the Western Mountains of Maine. The farm has a draft horse, Border Leicester, Finn, and Romney sheep, and laying hens. Farm products include sheep for breeding, yarn, needle felted art and felting supplies and roving, pure maple syrup from red and sugar maples, organic eggs, wool and wool products, We breed for incredibly soft, pure wool'. We are actively growing our fiber community by adding a fiber processing building we call "Tesseract", doing traditional skills in new ways. This building includes a farm store, a dye kitchen, gathering and learning space, and "do it yourself" facilities for washing, picking and carding wool. These facilities will be made available to local fiber growers and artists who want to process their own fiber. We offer gatherings within a peaceful and healthy environment. There are opportunities to learn traditional skills, enjoy fiber arts and practice creative expression amidst the daily and seasonal rhythms of our small, diversified farm. Sustainability is a long-term goal and guiding principle. We protect and enhance the soil, water, and other natural resources, produce high-quality food, seek to build a thriving rural economy, and experience a healthy life. We are committed to honoring these principles in everything we do. We nurture our connections with family, community and the earth. We have a passion for spending time with nature in the woods. We value collaboration, integrity, simple living and sustainable agriculture. We provide individuals and families within the local communities with food and fiber products at a fair price.
