Lage Farms. LLC, located five miles south of Jefferson City, produce and sell grass fed and finished Wagyu beef. Grass fed Kobe beef is another way to describe our product. Kobe is a perfecture in Japan that made the meat from Wagyu cattle (Japanese cattle) famous. Japan considered their cattle to be a national treasure, and would not leave live animals out of Japan, for many years. Wagyu beef is widely recognized for it's superior marbling, tenderness and taste. It also has health benefits due to its fat characteristics. Lage Farms does not use growth hormones. We do not feed antibiotics. Lage Farms sells one/half and whole animals, slaughtered in a government inspected facility. We also sell selected cuts such as steaks, ground beef , roasts, briskets, short ribs at our farm. Please first call so we will be readily available. We are a vendor at the Farmers and Artisians market in Columbia, Mo on some Sundays. Our volume is now ample to provide stores and restaurants. We sold grass fed Angus beef prior to getting top Wagyu genetics. Customers, happy with the Angus, are delighted to taste the difference. For example, we no longer grind sirloin steaks to make better ground beef. The sirloin is too good as a steak, and the ground beef is yummy tasty without it. You are always welcome at our farm. If you have not tasted grass fed Wagyu beef, you need to sample a pound of grass fed Wagyu ground beef.
