Minnesota Street Market

Located in downtown St. Joseph. Minnesota Street Market is a member-owned local food and art cooperative. Everyone is welcome! No membership necessary. Open seven days a week. Hours are Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 8 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Our focus is on locally-sourced goods: fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, and cleaning products. But we also carry many national brands of organic, sustainably-grown foods and dry goods. Our mission is to serve our members and community by providing high quality, natural foods, local art and other basic goods with a focus on local and organic products. Our buying policies incorporate wholesome nutrition, respect for the environment, and support of sustainable, local agriculture and production. We are committed to educating our members and the community on nutrition, sustainable living, and other issues that foster informed choices. We shall endeavor to pay our staff livable wages and provide a vibrant place to work. Our members shall be offered diverse products priced as low as possible within the context of our values and principles, and provided a pleasant and enriching place to shop. Members are encouraged to participate in the democratic process of operating a thriving enterprise. We dedicate ourselves to socially responsible, sustainable practices that benefit the individual, the community and the planet. The food sold at the co-op will be primarily organic, meaning that it is grown and produced without harmful chemicals and with minimal adverse effects on the land. And because most of the food comes from local sources, it will be fresh and retain nutrients. The market will offer products from local and regional sources such as organically-grown produce, grass-fed beef and pork, free-range chicken and eggs, dairy, fair trade products, natural cleaning products, packaged goods, and much more. The market will start small but will grow over time. Our future goal is to also provide space for local artisans across diverse media. Located at the heart of Minnesota Street, this co-op helps to maintain the thriving downtown St. Joseph community. It provides a hub where we can see old neighbors and meet new ones!
