Doubting Thomas Farms
Doubting Thomas Farm, located about 12 miles north of Moorhead, Minnesota, is part of a 5th generation family farm run by Lee, our sons Evan and Carsten, and myself, Noreen. We offer a variety of organic and heirloom vegetables, mushrooms, rolled oats, organic flours, barley, blue corn, and dried beans. We also have grass-fed beef and, occasionally, pork, turkey, chicken, and eggs. The farm is certified organic by the USDA and Global Alliance Organic, an organic certification agency. We offer educational local food mystery tours and classes such as pasta making, bread making, and cultural cooking.
The farm is adjacent to the Buffalo River, which provides our family with canoeing and fishing adventures. We have a lovable but very homely dog named Butch, who weighs in at about 160 pounds. Carsten, the youngest son, farms with Lee and grows mushrooms and micro-greens. Evan, the oldest son, and Carsten enjoy making their own root beer and rolling oats by bicycle power. The Thomas brothers continuously look for ways to keep everyone amused. Brita, our daughter and business analyst works in the Twin Cities but enjoys coming home to homemade breads, jams, and berry picking. When home Brita can often be found wandering the farm with a kitten in her arms.
