Omnivorous Earth

Hi and welcome to Omnivorous Earth. We are in the process of starting up a small organic farm on our 18 acres in wild & wonderful Sweet Springs, West Virginia. If all goes as planned we will soon have forest-raised pork, chicken eggs, duck eggs and rabbit meat for sale. Currently we are supplementing our animals forage with locally milled grain from New Country Organics. Check back next year for goat meat and fresh fruits and veggies. We are not certified, but to us organic farming is much more than choosing not to use chemical pesticides, fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, antibiotics and growth hormones. Our main goal is organic production that is sustainable and harmonious with the environment. We are working on setting up a system designed to improve the productivity in our agro-ecosystem, including soil organisms, plants, livestock and people. We are just getting started and have a long way to go but we know that our hard work will pay off.
