Our share boxes will include a variety of goodies, homegrown and/or homemade right here at the Homestead. There will be fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs each week, in addition to fresh baked goods, soaps, salves, and even fresh cut flowers as they become available with warmer weather.

As always, our fruits and vegetables are largely heirloom varieties, and everything we grow is non-GMO. We grow most of our crops from seed. We do not use any pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or even synthetic fertilizers. EVER. You can be sure that what you receive in your box is nutritious and safe. We often snack right in the gardens!

We will include a number of fruits and vegetables that our customers most often requested last year: slicing tomatoes, summer squash, and cucumbers for example. We will also include some things that may be less familiar to you, but we will provide you with tips on how to prepare them. Cucamelons, Chinese long beans, and daikon radishes come to mind.

Your weekly share box will be a reflection of what is available in the gardens throughout the season. Spring tends to begin with leafy greens, carrots, peas, turnips, and radishes. With warmer, sunnier days there are also beans, herbs, strawberries, blueberries, potatoes, garlic, and onions. When the heat rolls around, that is when there is the most diversity. Tomatoes, peppers, squashes, beans, melons, raspberries, grapes, more herbs, and flowers.

By the end of the season, there are also figs, peanuts, sweet potatoes, gourds, and figs.
