We are the first owners of this land outside the original European family who took possession of the property in the late 1700s. Cotton and tobacco were the major cash crops in this area for most of that time, and the family also grew typical row crops and had cattle and other animals.
Mary Ann grew up in a family that has farmed going back to colonial times. Scott also has some farming heritage. She has gardened since childhood, with a break for college, but always felt drawn back to the land. Over the years of adulthood and parenthood, she maintained a large garden, and, with this farm, she is putting all of her experience into practice to grow and flowers for the people of the Blythewood area.
