All CSA members, regardless of regular pick up location, also have access to the Pick Your Own herb beds and cherry tomatoes, as well as Kids Art on the Farm (as scheduled) at the Suffield farmstead during regular CSA pick up hours, included as a part of your membership.
The Ox Share is designed for a larger family, or 2 adult vegetarians, and could fill approximately 2 plastic-sized grocery bags each week with up to 7-8 different items per week in peak of season. Share size will grow in diversity as the season progresses and a greater variety of crops are harvested.
The Calf Share is designed for a smaller family, or folks who are looking for side-dish portions or eat out occasionally and would fill approximately 1 plastic-sized grocery bag each week with up to 6-7 different items per week in peak of season. Share size will grow in diversity as the season progresses and a greater variety of crops are harvested. This is our most popular share size.
The Mini Share will be a sampler of 4-5 of the items available for the week. This share is usually the perfect size for a single person or anyone that is looking to try out the CSA experience. Items will be selected for you based upon your preferences, as entered in the system during the sign up process.
Any of the 3 sizes listed above can be picked up on a weekly or biweekly (every other week) schedule that you select when you sign up.
In order to provide you with the most accurate availability of our produce and the freshest harvest for you, your personalized CSA share will be emailed to you approximately 2 days prior to your delivery and you will have ~24 hrs to make any adjustments, swaps or add on any extra products to your share.
The following is a list of some of the produce we expect during the year. This list is not all-inclusive, as we grow many different types of vegetables and it is based on our best estimate. Weather, pests and other events will affect actual production and thus the variety and quantity of produce provided. Your share will always be customized to your preferences and share size purchased, within the limits of our current crop availability.
The season usually begins with greens (lettuce, kale, chard) and early roots like radishes and salad turnips, then progresses to include summer squash, broccoli and beans, cabbage and cucumbers.
The heat of summer brings along green, then colorful peppers and eggplants and eventually sweet corn and tomatoes of all kinds. The diversity of the harvest peaks mid September when potatoes and winter squashes begin to arrive along with sweet potatoes.
The Summer CSA bounty wraps up in mid October with root veggies, hard squashes and late season greens.
A separate Autumn CSA of late greens and storage crops is held biweekly in November and December and is open for sign ups usually in mid September.
Our Vegetable Share Summer CSA Season runs for 18 weeks and will be automatically prorated on a weekly basis if you sign up mid-season, if there are any shares still available.
Shares must be purchased with a 25% minimum deposit or can be paid in full. There is a small discount built into the price of Veggie shares that are paid in full upon purchase. Shares purchased with a deposit will be automatically billed for the remaining payments on June 15, July 15, and August 15, 2025
