Windkist Ranch

Our ranch is located in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Park County between Fairplay (Hwy 285) and Hartsel ( Hwy 24), off of Hwy 9. Natural pastures and sustainable management allows us to produce high quality Lamb, Pork, Chicken and Eggs. All of our animals are raised on natural grass pasture. We never feed corn, which raises saturated fat in the meat. We never use animal by-products, steroids, growth hormones or antibiotics. We are committed to sustainable livestock production. In addition to the Farmer's Markets we sell at in the summer, and our ranch store, we have started a meat and egg CSA from May through Oct. Details and membership sheet can be found at our website. www.windkistranch.com We have a mixed bag of sheep, mostly hair varieties, that produce wonderful lambs and great tasting meat. They are pastured every day, except when lambing in the barn. We offer lamb whole, half or by the piece. Our pigs are fed non-GMO, no corn, no soy swine mix, plus they enjoy hay and/or alfalfa in the winter months and are pastured in the summer. We sell weaner piglets to butcher hogs. We offer pork either whole, half or by the piece. We have just started pastured, seasonal broiler chicken. They are dressed whole birds. We have seasonal green eggs from chickens that are fed non-GMO, no corn, no soy fed mixed for laying hens. We now have a small store located on the ranch for the convenience of our customers. We encourage all of our customers to come to the ranch and Meet Your Meat. The store is self-service, based on the honor system. Freezers are clearly marked, prices are listed by the piece; bags are handy for your purchases. We accept cash or checks, simply fill out order book and leave the money in the box. To get to the ranch: Take Hwy 9 South from Fairplay or North from Hartsel. Between mile marker 50 and 51 turn onto Fourmile Creek Rd (dirt). Stay on Fourmile Creek Rd about 2 miles, passing Badger, Santa Maria, and High Creek. At High Creek, Fourmile Creek makes a sharp right; continue until you see double green ranch gates. Please close gate behind you as the livestock are generally roaming around. Follow driveway towards signs of life. The store is located near the house (currently under construction).
