I am a fiber artist who started raising her own alpacas 10 years ago. I love animals and alpacas are amazing companions. I love quality fiber and decided it was a no brainer to raise my own animals to guarantee the quality. I do it all, from breeding to sheering to washing to knitting and creating unique fiber art. I keep my herd small so I have daily contact with each animal. I love having folks come to the ranch for farm tours. My studio is here, Treehouse Fibers, and I am available by appointment. I do teach classed here when time allows and students appear. when selling animals I am their for my clients 24/7 to answer and mentor. I have many grand champion huacayas with genetics from the most revered bloodlines.
I breed for high quality fiber with low micron. This keeps the the yarn close to the skin soft with no itch. When I have my fiber processed I have an additional step done to dehair. This is where they remove any guard hair. It is the guard hair that caused the itch. Remember when you got a hair cut and some hair got under your collar. This adds to the cost but I will only sell high quality yarn. If someone goes to the trouble of knitting a beautiful garment they deserve the very best. I use only fiber raised at my ranch. When I add wool I know the grower and can stand by the wool. I do my own dying here at the ranch as well. I sell yarns, roving, batts and finished products.
