Philosophers' Farm

We are a simple family of backyard farmers. Our 10 chickens -- a mixture of Golden Comets, Rhode Island Reds and one Light Brahma -- give us beautiful eggs every day. They're raised on pasture in a sustainable manner. These ladies are also our pets (yes, we are very soft-hearted!). The chickens are fed organic feed to supplement their natural diet of insects and loads of various vegetation. Come and meet them when you need eggs! We usually have several dozen eggs available weekly during the summer season. There are fewer available during the winter. During the summer, we often have various vegetables available as well. We are not certified organic growers, but we have long embraced sustainable principles and have recently began a permaculture adventure with our backyard farm! We also create hand-made yogurt available on a limited basis year-round. It's made using Hartzler Family Dairy milk (from Wooster, OH). Please order 48 hours in advance via email.
