Point of View Farm is home to a flock of purebred registered Finnish Landrace Sheep (also known as finnsheep). Finnsheep are a moderate sized heritage breed known for their beautiful soft wool, their ability to have litters of lambs and also lean meat that is tender and mild. We sell high quality breeding stock, market lambs, raw fleeces, machine washable sheepskins, roving for spinning and felting as well as natural colored and hand dyed yarns. We are FARMERS PLEDGE through the Northeast Organic Farmers Association.
Our goal and great pride is to care for our heritage flock as nature intended so the sheep can lead a happy and healthy life. The sheep are outside or have access to the out of doors all the time so they can graze, play or just take a nap. Our grass hillside pastures are fields are filled with native grasses and custom planted legumes that provide peak nutrition throughout the growing season. The pastures are never treated with pesticides/ herbicides or fertilized with anything other than compost from our farm. We believe in being as natural as possible and doing things the old fashioned way.
If you want to know more about how we care for the sheep please contact us. If you visit the farm, you'll see how cleanliness, care and sustainable agriculture produce a superior product. We love to talk about our Finnsheep!
