Potbelly Acres is a diversified family farm dedicated to providing the
greater Chicago area with a secure and trustworthy source for sustainably
raised food. We choose to work our land mostly by hand using biodynamic practices. We keep our
practices balanced, holistic, and sustainable with minimal amounts of
machinery and outside labor.
We aim to serve our community and others with a variety of responsibly
grown vegetables, fruits, meat, and eggs. We also provide our thriving local
beer community with a source for locally grown organic hops.
Potbelly Acres sells a variety of traditional farm items. Vegetables are our
primary product with a focus on things typically found in the average
American household. In addition we sell pastured pork, goat and fresh eggs off farm only.
Our Organic vegetables are the pride of our farm and account for 75% of
our total product list. We offer up to 40 different varieties of fruits and
vegetables to our customers. We have a strong focus on salad and root
crops. Because of our Sandy Soil type, we are able to grow these well. We
market our produce primarily through area farmer�s markets, but due to our
highway frontage we will be able to sell through our onsite farm stand as well,
which further decreases the amount that our food needs to travel to reach
the end customer. We would also like to take advantage of our proximity to
Chicago and work with local food aggregators and distributors that reach
area restaurants, grocers, and food banks
