RockyTop Clun Forest Sheep Farm

RockyTop farm raises Clun Forest Sheep, an old UK heritage breed. Clun Forest are known for their ability to thrive on pasture alone and are wonderful mothers. They have a high quality fleece loved by hand spinners and have a mild flavored meat. At Rocky Top, our ewes are known by their names and will spend their lives here on the farm. Their lambs stay on pasture with their mothers until they are four to five months old. We are not certified organic rather we practice a holistic approach to caring for our flock. We believe it is very important to maintain the health of our flock so we do use antibiotics when necessary and limited use of wormers when needed. We practice integrated pasture management and breed ewes who have shown to be resistant to parasites which limits the need for wormers. We enjoy having visitors who want to learn more about this wonderful breed.
