Rafter M Cattle

We are a family owned and operated cattle ranch in multiple locations throughout southern arizona. Our focus is on providing beef that is a better quality and healthier alternative to the traditional beef breeds. Our team consists of two brothers and their spouses. Michael, his wife Jessica and their two young girls, live in Sonoita and handle the breeding of the cattle and raising of the calves. While Clarence, his wife Javonna and their 5 children, live in safford arizona and operate the finishing portion of the business.

Our cattle are exclusively Corriente breed, also known as criollo. It is a smaller mexican breed of cattle and one of the oldest breeds in the U.S. This unique breed provides beef that has been shown in studies to be naturally low in cholesterol, has less fat, low in calories, higher crude protein, and lower in saturated fatty acids than certified angus beef. It has also been shown to be more tender and as juicy as certified angus beef. These studies were conducted by non biased parties at New Mexico State University, West Texas A&M, and Clemson University.
