Red Barn Family Farms is passionate about healthy cows for the best milk and cheese - clean, wholesome and free of artificial growth hormones. Our mission is to help preserve excellent small family farms in Wisconsin, by using a revolutionary pay scale that rewards our farms with sustainable premiums based on quality. Our farms are American Humane certified and have been hand-selected for their ability to meet very stringent standards of animal health/care and milk quality. Currently, eight small family farms in the Appleton, Wisconsin area make up our company. The more small family farms we add, the more successful we are! We believe our Red Barn farms represent the best of Wisconsin's family farming heritage. We are not only sustaining a tradition of family farming, but a connection to our food as well. Red Barn Family Farms provides premium wholesale rBGH-free milk and cheese to retail, direct-ship and food service customers. We are an approved vendor for several major food services companies including Sodexo, Aviands, Bon Appetit and Food Services, Inc. Our Heritage Weis and Heritage Weis Reserve Old-World Style White Cheddars won silver and gold medals respectively at the 2011 U.S. Cheese Championships. Heritage Weis also swept its category at the 2012 World Cheese Championships, taking gold, silver and bronze. Heritage Weis Reserve took both gold and silver in its category at the 2012 World Cheese Championships. We believe these awards are further confirmation that healthy cows really do make the best milk - and that family farms are worth keeping around for the future. Long live the family farm!
