Our beekeeping began in l978. Since that time we have seen many changes effecting the bees and all of agriculture. However the number one pest to all honey bees and beekeepers remains the varroa mite. Because of this, we have been selecting our own breeding stock to fight these pests genetically vs. chemically.. Our colonies remain chemically free of the hazardous commercial miteacides that many commercial beekeepers must use to keep their hives alive. Our honey, chemically free, is truly "Liquid Gold" and simply the best the front range has to offer.
The lavender farm was created in 2010 to provide additional forage for the bees in addition to offering a specialty honey. The seven different angustifolia varieties are grown for both their hardiness and their culinary uses. These chemical free bouquets have been offered at both the Downtown and Harmony Farmers Markets throughout the summer.
Now after 16 years as a local vendor at those markets we are now offering our first CSA memberships for 2016, which will run from June -September.
