Hickory Wind Farm is set on a breezy scenic high ridge top in the Coulee region of southwest Wisconsin. Our first huacaya alpacas arrived in October 2004 and we purposefully maintain a smaller herd to insure that all of our animals receive quality daily attention. Customers know that both our breeding stock and fiber/pet alpacas are healthy, in good condition, and well-mannered. In continually seeking to improve fiber quality while maintaining correct confirmation, we carefully select award-winning herdsires to use.
Bringing 'the wonderfulness' of alpaca fiber products to the general public is a key element of our farm. High quality skirted raw fiber, roving and yarn are sold via our on-the-farm retail store (The HW Farm Shoppe), our Alpaca Fiber CSA, and at various local events. Mini-mills are used to process our yarn and roving.
Open house events, posted store hours, and scheduled appointments bring visitors and shoppers to HW Farm. Numerous groups have visited for both fun outings and as educational events to see and learn about the alpacas.
