Hickox Family Farm Mission Statement: At Hickox Family Farm our mission is to provide the best and healthiest pork to our family, friends, and customers. We want you to have complete trust in the quality of our meat that you put on your table for your family. We work hard to ensure our animals are grown the way we believe God intended - humanely and naturally. We only raise heritage breed Berkshire or Berkshire cross hogs on pasture to bring you the highest quality experience in pork. A brief overview of some of our farming practices: Our hogs are grown on pasture, giving them plenty of open space to feed. Our hogs are free to be hogs - grazing, rooting or just wallowing in the mud. We rotate them to fresh pastures regularly and promote regenerative agricultural practices, improving the quality of our land over time, without any added fertilizers or chemicals. We plant different crops in our pastures for our hogs to feed on such as turnips, clover, rapeseed and other grasses and annual crops. Our pastures are free from commercial fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides in order to provide the safest and healthiest pork. Our hog's diet is supplemented with non-GMO feed, to complete the nutritional needs of our hogs. Our hogs are never given any hormones or antibiotics.
