As one of the nation's premier recycling companies, Republic Services has taken our commitment to environmental sustainability to the next level at the Newby Island Resource Recovery Park (NIRRP), located at 1601 Dixon Landing Road Milpitas, CA. The NIRRP is considered a one-stop shop with a recycling facility capable of sorting thousands of tons of mixed recyclables, an onsite clean natural gas fueling station and many other sustainable features. We also turn yard and food waste scraps into nutrient rich, certified organic compost that is used by local farms, businesses, residents, school districts and parks. Our compost facility in Milpitas currently markets more than 100,000 cubic yards of compost, mulch and wood chips each year. Our Super Compost product supports healthy plant growth, fertilizes, and protects plants from disease. Republic Services was just awarded Organics Recycler of the Year in 2020.
