I love all the small neighborhood farmers markets we have here in Seattle, but for consistently great produce organically grown, seafood, cheese, wine, flowers, honey, chocolate covered cherries, made to order mini-doughnuts, french pastries, special events, and zagat rated restaurants, nothing beats the Pike Place Public Market.

Pike Place Market always yields a sense of entertainment, and glowing warmth from the second you walk down the brick road to get into one of the many market entrances. The vendors and pleasant, and the products are wildly exotic, or deliciously simply. Who wouldn't want to visit a market like Pike Place?

I travel a fair amount for work and love visiting public markets and farmers' markets around the country. None really can compete with the energy, colors, and views of Pike Place--to say nothing of the foods and flowers. It's a singular treat!! Seattlites are soooo fortunate.

It is THE market. Fabulous fresh food of every kind, restaurants, artisans, shops, historic, fabulous views of Puget Sound, multi-cultural, etc. It is the first place to take visitors or spend time as a local. It is Everyday! It is the home of the flying fish market. Surely everyone has seen those guys.

i am from seattle and spent alot of time there and found it to be the most interesting and having the greatest variaty of fresh fruits and vegs. and it has
the most wonderful bakeries. the patrons are very helpful.
i now live in flint and the market here does not compare at all. when i go to
seattle to see my relatives i immediately go to the market from the airport to
buy fresh seafood and cheeses and breads with a couple of bunches of flowers
and then head home. i have been to alot of markets around the united states and still think seattles' pike street market is the best.

This is a deservedly famous large and diverse public market and has been in operation for 95 years and has set a standard for many others. It has the support of the entire community and has spawned many neighborhood markets in Seattle.

there is a little bit of EVERYTHING here. Great place to not only shop for local foods but it is a tourist destination, full of history. As I don't live in Seattle- I always made it a meeting up place to connect with people when I come into town.

Pike Place is not only a farmers' market, but also a classic historical landmark. It's multiple levels, from the open-air ground level down several flights into the ground. It's always packed full of tourists and locals alike, it hosts events, and it has a beautiful view because it sits right on the water.

Having eaten their fresh fruit, vegies, fish, bread, and so much more since I was a tot, it is truly a blessing in my life, and one of the most unique places in the USA. I have traveled extensively both nationally, and internationally, so I've had a lot to compare it with. Seattle's Pike Place Public Market is the heart and soul of our beautiful city!

I'm from the Netherlands and Pike Place Public Market comes closest to the urban markets back home and in other cities in Europe, such as Paris or Florence. Great variety, very fresh vegetables, fish and meat as well as cut flowers, plus great stores surrounding the stalls.

I don't live in Seattle, but visited it just last week - and used to live there. Pike Place is THE most amazing market and everything is fresh, colorful and the market has so much energy. Flowers, produce, fish, arts & crafts plus the Lowell's Seafood where you can eat and enjoy the view of Puget Sound -- fabulous!!! That experience made me thing I should move back to Seattle!!

It is the heart of Seattle. A must visit place on your list of places to see while vacationing in Seattle, and the best place in town to find fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, flowers, and pretty much anything else you can't find easily anywhere else, and it is all in one square block. The only drawback is parking. While there is a large parking building fairly close by, you have to walk up and down a multitude of stairs, and this is difficult for a disabled person.
