The only drawback is as a working family of two, we felt guilty wasting the overabundance of produce we received. (It wouldn't have been bad if we were better about storing things properly - we'll do better this year, promise).
Every time I see a sad, pink wedge of winter tomato in my salad, I find myself dreaming of those heirloom beauties we'll be enjoying come summertime - and supporting a local, sustainable farm with every tasty bite.
We've learned about new foods, cooked more and better than ever and gotten very creative with greens and squash b/c we had a ton of these! And things keep b/c they are from the ground to your home. A head of lettuce wrapped in a damp towel kept in the crisper for 3 weeks. We have potatoes, onions, squash, cabbage, turnips, parsnips, radishes and celeriac abounding from our last pick up a month ago. It continues to be the best food we've ever tasted.
One of the best decisions we've ever made, one wiff of that tub of herbs and you'll surely agree!
