I can't argue that baby goats are one of the cutest things in the world. But when I looked at the main milking herd and saw that most of them had overgrown hooves and many had full blown hoof rot and were nearly lame from it, it turned my stomach. I pointed it out to the attendant and was told the owners sister was a vet and gave all the goats any care they needed, it made me glad she was not my vet. When i tried to contact the owner about it my comments were deleted and I was ignored. You can be sure I will never patronize this place again.

Split Creek Farm is a quaint, authentic, working farm. Their milk, yogurt, and cheese products are wonderful, and the farm is a great place to book a tour or take the human kids on a nice day. In Spring, baby goat kids are a delight to watch and photograph. My personal favorite is their feta cheese - it is to die for!

Split Creek has wonderful goat cheese, milk, delicious eggs, great local grits and even Carolina-grown rice. But my absolute favorite -- the goat fudge!! This is one of my favorite local food venues.
