It is so unique! Items- not limited to just edibles- are sold that can't be found anywhere else.

I've driven the 85 miles one way because I trust the meat...and I've got a freezer. Besides, the local food market concept is the only one that makes sense for communities.

Here you get organically grown food and support your local farmer as well. I like the fact that you know where your food came from and in most cases can look for yourself. Also, this is a market for local farmers so we are supporting our own communities at the same time.

Sweetwater is a real community of people -- farmers and consumers -- who are concerned about healthy soil, healthy plants, healthy people. This market is a beacon of hope and light in a time of encroaching darkness.

Fantastic to talk to the farmers and know where your food is coming from. Great information on what the animals eat and how they are slaughtered. Generally just a great atmosphere.

I love Sweetwater because it brings such a sense of community. I love to get fresh food from "faces" that I know by name and recognize by face rather than buy food from box stores that just add to their bottom line of "more," as in, more yachts, more cars, bigger and bigger houses...Yay Sweetwater!

The community that has developed among the vendors and customers goes beyond what I have experienced anywhere else. Of course the meats, cheeses, veggies, fruits, flowers and local art are all great reasons to support this market as well!

All of the vendors are so friendly at Sweetwater- always! They had a band with a lineup of singers there the last time I was there and 3 boys sang ;Jesus loves me; It was so sweet. It feels so open and welcoming every time I shop there. I love the organic selection and the prices and I like that they're open throughout the year including the off season months.

I love the food, but it is not above the feeling I get when I come into the area and see all of the real life people enjoying the day. People are smiling and relating in a fine manner. Even though I can not always justify making it from N. M. to the market, when I do I like to spend time trying to imagine what it takes to bring everything to a local spot for all of us who want great healthy food. Thank you, I appreciate all of your work and intentions. So, thank you for making my life so much better. Shirlee

We support Sweetwater because we know we can trust that all of the food available has been grown in a humane and sustainable way! Other markets in Michigan allow vendors to sell produce from California and Mexico... who ever heard of a local banana in the Midwest? Sweetwater is the first ALL LOCAL market in Michigan and deserves praise for their accomplishments!

I think that it is wonderful that there is a food market dedicated to providing healthy, safe foods and products. I never knew there were so many local farmers that participate in safe growing practices... and to think I was buying ALL of my food at the grocery store, searching for the healthiest they had to offer, and just up the road was an abundance that I was missing out on. The people there are very friendly and willing to explain what items are, how they are grown or made, and how to prepare or use them. I found Sweetwater Local Foods Market at the end of last fall so I missed out on a lot of the fresh produce but I am very anxious to see what the summer and fall months hold! Sweetwater is AWESOME!!! Thanks everybody!
