This market has a great feel with lots of friendly people, but I've got to say that I'm very disappointed with the selection and prices. I slowly have stopped finding reasons to come here and last Saturday was the last straw: the day before Halloween and only 2 or 3 pathetic looking pumpkins for an outrageous price. I swear, you'd think they were made of gold.

They have been the starting farmers market in the area. They are now opening an inside market to have year round. They are a great group of local farmers that really care about local,small,eco-friendly ideas and food. They deserve to have this money to further their cause.

Cindy Gentry has helped bring amazing, affordable and healthy food (not to mention amazing local goods!) to the downtown area. She's dedicated her life to making local food accessible and I am so thankful!

I love developing a relationship directly with the people who grow my food. Knowing that the produce is ALL local and freshly picked the day before is pretty hard to beat. The Downtown Farmers Market organization is headed by Cindy Gentry who not only promotes Permaculture classes that teach a sustainable lifestyle, but is a non-profit organization that gives back to the community. It makes me feel great knowing that any profit that the market makes goes to help needy families and that I can help indirectly by spending my money here while supporting our local farmers and the health of my family all at the same time!.

Any place that is not a chain gets my vote for being first class, as Phoenix Public Market does. First class all the way, without first class prices!

This Downtown market is amazing in it's scope of participants; artists, farmers, cooks, bakers, flower essense formulators, chocolatiers, craftpeople and music, all combine to bring people to the downtown area which is a miracle in a city where people just don't walk around!

This market is awesome! There is a severe lack of fresh, well priced produce in the desert of Phoenix and the Downtown Market comes through. There is amazing produce, delicious baked goods and beautiful arts and crafts. Everything is local and it is a fun, welcoming atmosphere.

The world is overrun with the sameness of grocery and mainstream big-buck stores. The integrity of the farmers, crafters, and businesses involved with the Downtown Phoenix Public Market is unmatchable. The Market brings fresh food and smart, innovative businesses to the city for all of us to appreciate.

These guys have a plan that works! A great variety of locally grown produce and other locally produced wares. Their aggressive approach will soon open an indoor market for daily access to local vendors is the kind of service approach that will keep me coming back all week long. If the US Government could be run as well as this market all of our current problems would disappear in short order!

The variety of local vendors and farm stalls is unmatched in the valley. The prices are reasonable and the food is fresh and organic/pesticide free! The downtown market embodies a true sense of community with a welcoming atmosphere (even on the hottest AZ summer day). I especially like the Wed night market where I can shop on my way home from work. I look forward to watching it grow.

I love this market because I have kids. This market is like a group of friends getting to together for a hug, some good food and a great music. I want my kids to see that the whole can be more than Big Box stores and disconnected lives. Places like the downtown market bring people together and provide nourishment not only to our bodies but to our souls.

I love the fresh seasonal produce, the breads and pastries, along with the specialty foods like handmade tortillas and pastas. I'm hooked on Queen Creek olive oil. And I've equipped my kitchen with ceramic bowls and glasses made from wine bottles, purchased from the market vendors.

Cindy Gentry should get an award for all she has done in support of local vendors and downtown Phoenix. Everyone is treated with kindness and respect from the street guys to the mayor. She holds it all together with graciousness and strength. A perfect example of walking the walk. Cindy exemplifies the true spirit of the 'local' movement and the Downtown Phx Market shows it.

We buy fresh local produce. Home made cheese and butter. We love Belinda's Pickles and the fresh jalapeno jelly by Cotton Country. People love to receive these things as gifts. The fresh eggs rock but you do have to get there early. You can also do breakfast, find a caterer or buy BBQ'd sandwiches. There are all natural granolas, soaps, chocolate, hummus, salsas. There are so many delicious goodies!

Phoenix farmers market is the best one around, by far. They don't have a huge number of fresh fruits and veggie vendors, but the ones that are there always have really delicious produce, are informed and helpful. If you want fresh eggs, make sure to get there before 9 am or they'll all be gone. The other food vendors are good, from tamales to salsa and honey, there is great variety and quality.
