I love supporting the local economy. Buying local produce that is not only fresher, but requires less transport is good for my health and the environment. The variety at the market is much more interesting that what you will find in the produce section of the supermarket. It's nice to see the faces responcible for what you are eating and is such a way to connect with the community. Going to the market, getting out in the sun and being surrounded by smiling faces and tons of dogs is the highlight of my week.

I love the organic fresh produce at such great prices! I also love the fresh strawberry -orange juice from Browns and the candles from Sarasota Candle and the pasta and pizza dough from Pepperonata's, More importantly though it's just a great atmosphere - THE place to be on Saturday morning!

Eclectic, community atmosphere with a smorgasboard of smells, tastes, sights and sounds. There is something for everyone, even the family pet. A truly delightful place to spend a colorful, yummy Sunday.

The organic produce is fantastic, and less expensive than WholeFoods. Also, the fish is wonderfully fresh.

Love the atmosphere! Aside from the veggies, plants, crafts, and live music, people bring their dogs, and everyone's having a great time while saving money and shopping for local food! Whole Foods is right across the street, and the downtown shops are just amazing.

They always local produce that is a better price than Whole Foods who usually get their fruits and vegetables from California. I like organic produce and there are quite a few organice farms who bring their products to market.

They have very fresh fruit and veggies and at an resonable price for being Sarasota. Sarasota is an city that is higher in prices for everything because of the belief it is an retirerment place but alot of people live here are not retired and have a struggle to make it so it is nice to be able to get fresh and great fruit and veggies at an resonable price. Thank you.

To support local businesses and to eat real food. For an eye-opening account of the state of food production in the USA, everyone should see the documentary "Food Inc."

Aside from the selection of quality food - it's the community atmosphere...everyone smiles and says hello to my two young girls; others let them pet their dogs; etc...it's just a nice place to go and being able to get quality fresh local produce is a bonus!

Our Farmers' Market is a wonderful place to get fresh local produce and see your neighbors. It's a doggy friendly atmosphere in the heart of downtown with all types of vendors. It is a great way to promote community involvement and get fresh air and exercise. Best of all we walk the three blocks every Saturday morning. The Downtown Farmers' Market was one of the leading factors in our decision to move downtown.

I'm a regular on Saturday morning right after work. The people are awesome, hanging out shopping while walking their dogs. The atmosphere is like a neighborhood should be...people helping people as well as buying some wonderful fresh items. It can be crowded but no one is in a hurry....just a great way to spend a morning, being a part of something so real!!!
